A member asked:

Are everyones vaginas colonized with bad bacterias and they activate when given an opportunity. or are there people who have no bad bacterias colonizing their vagina?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The vagina is lined with many mucous secreting cells. The mucous contains sugar/protein & water which are the main food for germs. Germs enter from below at random or insertion during sexual activity whether solo or with a partner. Some of the bacteria are harmless hitch hikers that will cause no problems while others may. Your outside skin is also carrying dozens of germ species at any time.
