The vagina is lined with many mucous secreting cells. The mucous contains sugar/protein & water which are the main food for germs. Germs enter from below at random or insertion during sexual activity whether solo or with a partner. Some of the bacteria are harmless hitch hikers that will cause no problems while others may. Your outside skin is also carrying dozens of germ species at any time.

So, we all do have bad bacterias in Vagina and other parts of out bodies. I wonder, do people who had chronic BV, but are infection-free now, generally have more bad bacterias all the time than people who didnt have Chronic BV?
