A member asked:

So, we all do have bad bacterias in vagina and other parts of out bodies. i wonder, do people who had chronic bv, but are infection-free now, generally have more bad bacterias all the time than people who didnt have chronic bv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bad bacteria ??? We all have bacteria on or skin surface, in our gut and transiently in other places. Some are potentially harmful but many are not. The closeness of the vagina to the anus allows bad acting bacteria to occasionally move from the gut to the vagina. Some are more pre-disposed to this for various reasons.
