While your cholesterol / HDL ratio is acceptable your LDL & nonHDL cholesterol levels are elevated. At your youngish age risk of heart and vascular disease is not high unless you're a smoker. See a dietician for a one time consultation& get proper instructions on a diet. Your eating habits will also be critiqued& sample low cholesterol, low saturated diets will be provided. Repeat tests in 3 mos.

At this point, you have the chance to stabilized your future by correcting the areas of risk. This is not severe now, and a program of appropriate dietary management, exercise, weight management, will all provide high dividends. Suggest you see a dietician, have your doctor thoroughly involved, and conscientiously pursue you new directions. Consider walking at least 20 min. every other day.

Your lipid results are abnormal and need evaluation and treatment by an experienced physician. While a low fat diet and regular exercise are important components of your treatment program, your numbers are abnormal enough to warrant the use of medications, particularly if you have a family history of coronary disease, and if your LDL cannot be lowered adequately.
