I have been on 5mg lexapro for 6 days now. the side effects are pretty bad. nausea, diarrhea, shakey, loss of appetite, excessive sweating, more anxious at points, slight dizziness at some points. would it be safe to stop taking it?

Med side effects are too overwhelmed that compared with the benefits you may get so if I was you I would hold the medication and contact my doctor.

Appears you are not tolerating the Lexapro, even at a very low dose, so it would indeed be appropriate to put this on hold and seek an alternative product. You need to contact your doctor ASAP, and discuss revised management.
