A member asked:

If a child gets a sewing needle in there foot and that sewing needle enters the blood stream is the needle capable of traveling through the blood steam and cause death or serious injury to that child?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Would have a hard time imagining how a sewing needle could enter the circulation and cause severe problems. Rather would be concerned of the needle in the foot becoming a nidus for an infection with subsequent cellulitis. Recommend a visit to a pediatrician.
