I think my kid has been misdiagnosed. doctor said she had sdh but no sign of cerebral injury. she had an craniotomy weeks later because of hydrocephalus/csf. & her soft spot was intense.csf appearance is xanthochromic . shouldnt it be acute sah?

Xanthrochromia indicates that there has been blood in the CSF.from intracranial bleeding, but it can also occur if the lumbar puncture was traumatic. You are probably correct by what you described. I am not sure why doctor made the diagnosis of subdural hematoma (SDH) because the manifestations of these conditions are completely different, especially by CT or MRI findings. I wonder if there was a miscommunication.
