I have aa amyloidosis. is this serious? what should i do to prevent getting worse? what is the prognosis?/outlook?

This is a condition where Amyloid is deposited in tissues as a result of some chronic infections, It sometimes gets better on its own and sometimes requires treatment. Prognosis depends on organs affected and response to treatment. There are problems and there are solutions. I would suggest an academic medical center for management. wishing you good health

I agree with Dr.T's explanation & advice to seek help at an academic medical center to ensure that you don't have the more aggressive AL amyloidosis especially if you don't have any chronic inflammatory disease which causes the secondary AA amyloidosis. In addition to treatment of underlying inflammatory disorder, treatments to remove amyloid from affected organs are now available at university ho
