Easy to recognize: Lichen amyloidosis is very easy to recognize. Given that it is a chronic condition and can impact your quality of life, a second opinion wouldn't be a bad idea.

Never hurts: Never a bad idea to get a second opinion if you are questioning the one you have been given or if treatment is not working. Lichen amyloid is notoriously difficult to treat however.
