that depends. Some people have hernias that never change, cause no problem and they are able to exercise without problems. Other people find the increasing activity such as stairs causes increased pain or the hernia to increase in size. Best to get evaluated by a physician, not every hernia is equal. A small hernia that easily reduces may be fine. A large hernia, or hernia that stuck, not so
