Probably OK: Aerobic exercise should not worsen an existing hernia or increase the probability of a complication. In contrast, weight lifting and aggressive core exercises may cause a hernia to enlarge. In general, if the activity causes groin pain, it is probably best to avoid that activity or get the hernia repaired.
