Ideally, no.: A hernia is a hole in the abdominal wall that can cause problems if a loop of intestine gets stuck, leading to the need for emergency surgery. Not all hernias are alike, but all tend to enlarge in response to physical stress such as strenuous exercise. If large and/or causing symptoms, surgical repair is the best option. If this is not feasible, i recommend focusing more on aerobic exercise.
