It really doesn't matter. Contrary to common beliefs (and much inaccurate online information), U. urealyticum is entirely normal in the genital tract. At any time, up to half of all sexually active persons test positive. UU is shared by sex partners, i.e. sexually transmitted, but so are many other bacteria that cause no harm. It rarely causes disease and usually doesn't need treatment.
