A member asked:

Been feeling horrifically sick. falling down, dropping things. tired, pain all over. i had an eosinophil count 4.0 which shows high with normal range 0-2.9, eos abs is at 0.29 which shows high with normal range being 0-0.20. does this point anywhere?

Not to a diagnosis. An eosinophil count of 20+ would suggest a parasitic disease. The cited number has little significance. Your symptoms are worrisome. See your doctor and get a thorough exam and testing to sort this out.

I am less concerned about your eosinophil count which is near normal. Your feeling so weak and run down raises issues like a virus illness. You may also need to have a COVID test done. You should go see your family doctor for examination and testing.

It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!
