Hello! i did an x-ray of the head for the orthodontist. the nurse put the auto mode with smallest radiation: 8 mgy*cm2. however, when the exam was over, the machine showed 17 mgy*cm2. why did it change? how many msv did i get? thank you so much?

It is possible that the default dosage is 17 on that machine. It is unknown what your actual dosage was, but have no fear, no damage occurred.

Based on your head size the machine, as nit is being adjusted, compensates for volume of image . Safe, yes. If concerned express this to your specialist Orthodontist. CBCT provides information required for optimum treatment. To not have appropriate information means your Orthodontist would have to guess. Not a good idea.
