My 26 yr old had enlarged groin lymph node for 5 . weeks . she had a blood test that was fine except for epstein bar ab . she had mono 5 years ago . her agg was high but also her igm was 58 , and she had no recent infection. should we be concerned?

Enlarged lymph nodes indicate that there is some kind of infection in the immediate area. Since her enlarged lymph node was in the groin region, it could indicate any kind of vaginal/pelvic infection including STD's. She should have a Pap smear and culture to make sure there is no infection causing this that can be treated. Some STD's show no symptoms.

Agree with Dr. Kratzberg. Once infection is rule out, she may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or she develop fever, or loses weight, she should see a doctor.
