Hypervitaminosis D can cause irritability & nervousness. If your vitamin D and calcium levels are not elevated vitamin D can't be blamed. I think taking vitamin D at a daily dose of 1000 units is reasonable for most of us who aren't deficient. You could consult a neurologist for evaluation. If no abnormalities I recommend stress management therapy which should be helpful.

6,000 IU per day is a bit on the high side, but since Vitamin D is fat soluble, ultra high levels should not occur within a month. Toxicity is mainly reflected with kidney issues, such as stones, but headaches, speech issues, and cognitive problems would be unlikely. Simple solution, get blood test, discuss with your doctor and decide if supplement needed,
