Brain stem evoked potentials. showed "mild dysfunction in left cranial 8th nerve when entering the brain stem" suffering with vertigo, nausea, dizzyness. is this likely issue with brain stem itself or with inner ear nerves themselves?

What you have described sounds currently like just the 8th nerve involvement and not the brain stem. It is more important to find the cause and see if there is possibility of spread or something that is unlikely to spread. You should work with you local health professional and make sure to ask direct questions because they are better able to answer you.
