My daughter(3 yrs). experiencing uti symptoms again. last time i sterilized her potty and got a sample that came back positive for uti. she won't go in a plastic bag hospitals provide. is there a sterile inserts i could get for her potty to collect?

The problem is having urine squirt through her genitals, partially entering/washing out the vagina before going into whatever you use to collect it. The most accurate collections require a sterile catheter be placed in her bladder using proper technique. The next best is to properly prepare the outlet structures for a midstream collection. All other methods pick up random contaminants.

urine from a potty no matter how cleaned is not adequate for urine culture. There are other devices to do that. If that does not work have your Urologist/nurse show you how to collect a clean catch mid stream specimen
