Is vertigo to be expected with single sided sensorineural hearing loss (severe) even if there is no acoustic neuroma involved? i get occasional very short episodes (1-2 seconds). two mris of iac/head came back normal?

Depending on cause of focal hearing loss, episodic vertigo could occur with otolithic dysfunction. Would also suggest evaluation for Meniere's disease. See an otolaryngologist and have a battery of acoustic-vestibular studies.
