I have been on metoprolol succinate er 50mg for almost a year for pots. at first it worked well by keeping my hr down when changing positions. now, i noticed that i am back to how i was before starting the med. what should i do? is this normal?

It has been suggested that non-selective agents like propranolol are superior to selective beta blockers. Besides beta blockers, a variety of other medications have been used. I advise you to see a physician experienced in treating POTS since metoprolol appears to have become ineffective. Hypovolemia(low extracellular fluid volume) and low potassium may be associated issues. Good luck.
