Is it normal for fever to be present for a week before other flu symptoms such as coughing and runny nose to appear?

You do not have any symptom in the incubation period then fever starts and nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat in the first 48 hours. Cough may or may not occur and it begins a couple days after fever and nasopharyngeal symptoms.

If there is a persistent fever, consider bacterial causes and COVID-19. Screening tests for both are available.
