BMI above 30 or age above 35 raises chance of twin pregnancy. Previous twin pregnancy does not raise the chance of twin pregnancy but history of multiple pregnancies does raise the chance of twin pregnancy.

MZ twins rarely run in families but DZ twinning does. Highest DZ twining rate is in Nigeria. I would do a family tree for multiple births to see about your family. Discuss with your Drs.
