Sleep hygiene: Sleep hygiene (going to sleep regularly at the same time, no lights or noises, avoid certain meals, not doing other things like reading/watching tv in bed, etc.) and meds as a last resort. A thorough medical checkup would be also recommended. Sleep should occur naturally, not forcefully. So try to "let it happen", if at all possible.

Sleep problems: I agree with dr. Savulusky. Med eval may be needed. 1. Keep a regular bedtime & wakening time (to include weekends). Get up the same time each day, regardless of what time you fell asleep. 2. Make a regular, relaxing bedtime routine. Relaxing rituals prior to bedtime may include a warm bath or shower, aroma therapy, reading, or listening to gentle music. 3. Sleep in a dark, quiet, cool room on.
