Do not be concerned. About half of adults have been infected with HSV 1. Most people suffer no ill effects from the infection, other than occasional cold sore.

HSV1 is contagious, and as result many people have it. It is more contagious during an outbreak. I would not kiss or have oral contact during an outbreak
