I have metastatic breast cancer to the bone. i am on tamoxifen and zometa. one of them is causing severe acid indigestion. prilosec, probiotics and digestive enzymes do nothing. can i try dgl? (deglycyrrhizinated licorice?

Because DGL is a supplement so we could not check the interaction between these meds and supplement. I think you can try DGL for 2 weeks to see if it can alleviate your GI symptoms. If it is effective you need to notify your oncologist about its use if continued. If it dose not work, your medications, either Tamoxifen or Zometa needs to be replaced, one by one, to figure out what the culprit is.

Prilosec or Omeprazole belong to the class of Proton Pump inhibitors(PPI) which are the best antacid available but you need to use one capsule daily in order to obtain best relief. If you wish to try using DGL, I have no objection but you should first try using proper dose of a PPI.
