Arachnoid cyst are benign, meaning not a cancer. They are not uncommon. Sometimes because of location and size they can cause symptoms. Sometimes if they are small they may not be mentioned on reports. Please talk to your PCP and let the radiologist compare both the scans to confirm it was there before.

An arachnoid cyst is a coincidental benign finding of no consequence unless it expands and compresses nearby brain tissue, which is indeed uncommon. It is not a tumor or cancer. Discuss your films with the radiologist.
