87 year old man loosing body mass weight mostly due to inactivity due to stuck at home in pandemic. what food and indoor muscle gain activity recommend? otherwise vitals are more or less fine and energy is fine?

This is a natural result of aging. Most men start losing muscle mass after age 30 and end up losing 30% during their lifetime. A nutritious diet which includes at least 80 grams of protein is important as is some daily exercise. He could consult a dietician for a one time consultation.

Weight loss with no obvious explanation should always be investigated for medical causes first. In case no such cause is found, lifestyle changes can be implemented with the goal of maintaining weight rather than gaining.
