If the cdc states that an hiv 4th gen test window period is 18 -45 days and an rna pcr test is 14 - 33. why are doctors on healthtap saying to re-test at 90 days? if you used those tests at six weeks for the 4th gen test at the rna at five weeks?

Most HIV and infectious diseases experts agree with the CDC guidance and that is my advice on HealthTap. Some doctors (whether on HealthTap or elsewhere) have more conservative perspectives; and in some cases they may still rely on performance of older antibody-only HIV tests that required 3 months for conclusive results. Negative RNA and 4th get results at the times you state are conclusive.
