A nasal steroid and oral antihistamine may be helpful. The Mucinex may dry the secretions and should be used carefully. Allergy testing is important in identifying possible triggers to avoid.Smoke avoidance recommended. ENT referral may be useful.

Hello. The allergy therapy sounds like a good plan however the mucinex is a mucus thinner and may be adding to the drainage irritation. Ask your doctor for a detailed examination and possibly a prescription for a topical antihistamine spray. This can be used with an antihistamine pill temporarily and as needed. Sometimes if allergy worsens, a steroid could also help but see your Doc if worsening.
