What does it mean when your hida scan says no visualization of the small bowel activity and bile duct. also, enlarge spleen?

The biliary duct drains the bile from the gallbladder (where the bile is stored) to the intestine. If the duct is blocked you will not see the bile duct below the blockage and small intestine (the word "activity" is used for indicating the nuclear material) in the nuclear scan images. The scan also gives the spleen image and radiologist can tell if the spleen size normal or enlarged.
