There is no absolute answer for your question at this time. In fact, Moderna is planning for a combined flu and Covid-19 vaccine in the near future. At this current time, if it was me I would not take both at the same time because if you have the adverse effect(s) you do not know from what vaccine. I think both are probably effective and safe if a senior wants to take them by 2 weeks apart.

Initially the Covid vaccine could not be given within 2 weeks of another vaccine (either 2 weeks before or after another vaccine!). But, this is no longer the case and it is perfectly fine to get the flu vaccine and the Covid vaccine at the same time but at different sites (1 in each arm is fine!). Best of luck to you!

More research needed to know for sure, but probably no need to wait. Some vaccines are mixed into single shots (Hep A & B, measles-mumps-rubella, 9 HPV types in one vaccine). Multiple shots are given at the same visit for routine childhood vaccines, and for new military service members. No reduced effectiveness or increased side effects. Probably it will be the same for COVID and influenza shots.
