Senior citizen over 65 , fully vaccinated should get the booster dose or the 3 rd dose of covid vaccine? pharmacy saying it does not matter i think they are not the same?

My wife and I received the full dose of Moderna covid vaccine for our booster with no ill effects. If you can get the booster dose now I would get it. I agree with the pharmacy. I doubt side effects are dose related but Moderna is not recommending the full dose for the booster. I think it's to expand availability. You could get your physician's advice.

For all those over the age of 65.FDA has given emergency approval and CDC has recommended a Third Dose for people over age of 65 and others with compromised Immune System.Six months after the second dose of Pfeizer Vaccine. For those who got two doses of Moderna or J&J Vaccine the recommendations are still pending.But many pharmacies and other vaccine centers are also giving Moderna vaccine too
