A member asked:

If you take an hiv rna test 35 days post-exposure and a 4th generation combo test at 41 days post-exposure with both results being negative. (both tests were done via vein collection). would you consider this test to be conclusive?

Quite honestly I always tell patients that there is no "perfect" test. They all have varying degrees of sensitivity and specificity. So "negative" test is generally good news and gives us comfort as it should. So your two negative tests could be thought of as "conclusive" based on the current resolution of those diagnostic tests however there is still the very small possibility that they are not.
