I have chronic gastritis. my dr gave me protonix 40mg twice a day and 40 mg famotine at bedtime. doing lot better .but on this now for 3 months. watching my diet. what your thoughts?

It sounds like you have pretty bad gastritis! That is a high dose of two drugs that both decrease acid production, and while can be used together it is not that common, especially for a long period of time. Some follow-up after three months to decide if both drugs are still needed is advisable. I would think someone has looked at your stomach (called an EGD). These meds have side effects over time
