Is taking protonix (pantoprazole) 40mg twice per day too much for gastritis?

Some needs that: Protonix (pantoprazole) is often used as a once a day medication, but can be more effective if used twice daily--because it has a very short half-life of about 1 hour. So taking it at breakfast will not provide much help by dinner hours. So, if the gastritis is significant, twice daily dosing is often advisable. Toxicity is very rare with 2x/day dosing. Consult doc. Good luck.
