If you are Rh negative, and the fetus is Rh negative, nothing will occur with an immune reaction. If your first child was Rh positive, and you are Rh negative, your second child may have anemia secondary to antibodies to fetal Rh positive red blood cells. This can be prevented by the "shot" of Rh immune globulin early in a second pregnancy, so check with your OB MD for current assessment.
