A member asked:

My step-child was flung backwards after running into an electric fence. he was not initially looked at? should i take him to hospital?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

YES: There can be delayed problems after electrical exposure to both regular muscle and the heart muscle. You may not see symptoms evident until child is really in trouble. Needs an ecg, check BP and likely a few labs like a CPK just to evaluate that there was not any significant muscle damage done. Lots of fluids and make sure urine not changing color.
