A member asked:

My ct scan shows mild prominence of central biliary channels and proximal cbd what does this mean?

In this situation your ordering physician, who knows your symptoms, should sit down with the interpreting radiologist and review the scan, find out how significant these mild findings could be,what,if any, other studies, would provide any more information, what type of follow-up schedule,if any,is advisable and what specialists, if any, would be helpful here. Possible obstruction from a stone, etc

It's difficult to interpret this without the images, but basically its saying there may be mild enlargement of these ducts, either from present or previous blockage... or they could just look a little bigger but actually still be normal. The liver contains bile ducts which join centrally leading to the CBD (Common bile duct) which empties into duodenum. Bile helps breakdown fats for digestion.
