A member asked:

I had a mammogram and ultrasound that identified a cluster of microcysts with a few calcifications and no internal vascularity. i was asked to repeat the imaging in six months. it was assigned bi-rads 3. is this possibly cancer?

A BiRads 3 rating is considered a low likelihood of cancer. A BiRads 4 rating is a recommendation for biopsy. If you're anxious about your status, for peace of mind, I strongly recommend consulting a breast surgeon for an opinion rather than waiting 6 months for the repeat study.. A good breast surgeon will exercise good judgement about whether a biopsy is advisable.
