Bilirubin tot1.5 dir0.2, up past 3 months. other markers (alb/glob/sgot/pt) within range, but going up. alcohol abuse history. obese. taking bp meds. eating less to lose weight. weight at 230 lbs. constipated. what could be reason for high bilirubin?

Liver damage from drinking, inherited problems of bilirubin metabolism, hepatotoxicity of meds you are taking to mention a few. Discuss with your team.

Given your history liver disease is a likely cause. If it is due to alcoholic hepatitis, it may resolve if you abstain from alcohol. It would be prudent to follow your lab results with your doctor. No alcohol. Do not take acetaminophen/paracetamol.
