Unrelated, acute hepatitis panel is trying to rule in or out acute hepatitis, while alcoholic hepatitis is suggested by history, exam and blood work that includes liver enzymes.

Acute hepatitis panel tests for infection with hepatitis A, B and C viruses. Alcoholic hepatitis requires testing for a different set of markers and history. It you have any concern about alcoholic hepatitis, give up alcohol for good. Wish you good health!
