In a 24 year old with fused sutures a removable palatal expander will tip teeth, violating Andrew's 6 Keys of occlusion and possible destabilizing the teeth. As an adult you would need either TAD-supported expansion or surgically assisted expansion. Find a specialist a Orthodontist familiar with these techniques.

You have several questions, so I will try them in some kind of order A removable expander appliance used in an adult dentition will only tip teeth. You wil get very little to no palatial expansion because the median palatial suture will have fused. If the expander is worn nights only, even the root tipping will revert to its original position (round tripping)
