We have our annual physical examination last month. the doctor was not able to explain chest x-ray about the degenerative osseous changes. i experience pain from my neck going to hips one location at a time. what does this mean. thanks doc?

that diagnosis is not uncommon as our spines age. Re pain it is probably from some other cause and have your doctor check you for that.

Osseos means "bone". Degenerative changes of the spine often can show 3 signs radiographically. Loss of joint (or disc) space between bones. Bony spurring or overgrowth near bone edges. And a whiter/denser appearance to the bony end plates near joints or discs. These are 3 hallmark signs of degenerative changes, which by the way occur in many people after 50 (to different degrees).
