A member asked:

What does a result of a bacterial swab coming back as aerobic bacteria mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The term aerobic is applied to bacteria that need oxygen for their growth, in contrast to anaerobic that do not. It does not say anything about the culture is clinically meaningful or not. It would be prudent to talk to the doctor who ordered the culture.
