A member asked:

Can a thalasemia person married and born a child?is it dangerous?thanks a lot

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: A person with thal major is obviously seriously sick and it would be wise to get with her hematologist if a couple is considering marriage / motherhood. If you have thal minor and are consider marrying someone with a similar thal minor that gives risk of producing a baby with thal major, please be aware of all your options and hopefully practice preventive genetics in a way acceptable to you.
