Selective Cox 2 inhibitors are tolerated much better than plain NSAIDs. So you may be able to tolerate them better. You have to make sure that you do not have Helicobacter pylori gastritis. Need to get that checked and treated if positive. You may also benefit from taking an H2 blocker like Pepcid or a trial of PPI like omeprazole. All of the above can decrease the risk of GI bleed .
