Most likely you did indeed have pancreatitis. Not all cases are triggered by alcohol. Normally abdominal imaging (e.g. CT or MRI) would have been done to confirm the diagnosis and to check for other causes, such as gallstones. It still may be reasonable to do this now to check for this and for damage that can lead to repeat pancreatitits. Discuss with your GP and/or a gastroenterologist. Good luc

Pancreatitis would be by far the most common cause with other causes such as intestinal, gallbladder, kidney disease, drugs, metabolic or pregnancy in the differential. Tight followup with a gastroenterologist is recommended until a clear cause is found.
