Psychiatrists prescribe amisulpride for the treatment of what they diagnose as schizophrenia. This drug is a dopamine antagonist which means it blocks this neurotransmitter in the brain. Psychiatrists hypothesize too much dopamine causes what they label as schizophrenia. There is no actual valid scientific evidence this is true.
