I was diagnosed with acute gastiris a week ago and have been on medication twice a day for a week. how long does inflammation on stomach take to heal? i was told two weeks at the most but acute gastiris usually heals within 2-10 days?

You are partially correct. If acute gastritis is caused by food poisoning (bacteria or preformed toxin) or viral illness or chemical (alcohol, give example) problem will resolve quickly. But if you have gastritis due to other causes such as H. pylori infection, problem can be chronic if you do not have specific treatment.
