A member asked:

Is a child(now 6) with a history of febrile seizures at more severe risk if they catch covid 19? would febrile seizures be considered a type of immune deficieny?

Febrile seizures occur in young children and dissipate with maturation. This is not an autoimmune disease or secondary to immune deficiency. This history is not a prediction of future risk from infections

The risk is related to the presence of fever. With a febrile illness, there may be a risk for a seizure. There is no increased risk for the infection itself.
